As you may have been following, International Community Media Day is less than SIX WEEKS away! As Co-director at King Lambie Productions I have been working hard with my partner to make sure Scotland´s hub is the best it can possibly be and with the visitors to Glasgow we have in store, it’s looking to be pretty good.
In the line up so far we have Summerhall TV, Mindwaves and many other groups coming to speak to us as well as Prof. David McGillivray from the Digital Commonwealth Project. We have a panel of community radio experts from Awaz FM, Camglen Radio and Irvine Beat FM and to top it off some filming, social media, digital media and reporting workshops.
However, to make the day memorable and make sure we are showing Scotland´s community media off to the rest of the world we are looking to take on some volunteers for the day to interview, film, tweet, record, photograph and everything else that can be added to that list.
You don´t have to be a journalist or a media expert to take part in this worldwide event – you literally need yourself, a smartphone and observation.
Training will take place nearer the time for those who think they would like it. It is a fantastic opportunity for those who want to take part in a worldwide event, or even add a bit of sparkle to the old C.V.
